Les Deux Chenes is tucked away in the peaceful Anjou are of the south-western Loire Valley. It is in a tiny hamlet surrounded by Vineyards, Farmland and Countryside.

The modern town of Doue la Fontaine (7 miles), the medieaval chateau town of Montreuil-Bellay (8 miles) and the old town of Thouars (10 miles) all have weekly markets and large supermarkets.

The CONVERTED half of the large FARMHOUSE (on the right in the photos with green shutters) has a fully equipped kitchen/dining room.

Downstairs is a separate room for the washing machine and with a bath.
Also downstairs is an en-suite bedroom and two lounges, one of which could be used as a 4th bedroom with access to the bathroom with above shower and the en-suite shower room/whb/wc/ via the kitchen.

Upstairs are 2 en-suite bedrooms with air-conditioning.
The 2 upstairs bedrooms have room for several single beds or a large double + singles.

HEATING is provided by very good quality log burners in both lounges and also gas central heating throughout the Farmhouse except in the kitchen/diner where there is a log-burner effect electric fire.
LPG gas is piped into the Farmhouse from a large tank which is buried in the front garden.

UK TV is available via a satellite dish and broadband internet is available.

The COTTAGE has an open plan kitchen/lounge.The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons.
The shower room is off the lounge area.

Upstairs is one bedroom with a double and single bed, and french doors leading out onto a raised terrace with magnificent views over completely unspoilt farmland and vineyards.

UK TV is available in the Cottage via a satellite dish and there is a connection to the Farmhouse telephone/computer connection.

HEATING in the Cottage is electric with a gas bottle for the gas hob (electric oven).

The HEATED SWIMMING POOL is heated by a heat pump - thus keeping it warm (at least 28 degrees) even when the weather is cooler than hoped. Opening and closing dates depend on the weather although we advertise to operate it from May - September. However, we have been known to turn it on in mid-April, and usually do not turn it off until mid-October.

The COTTAGE has its own GARDEN to the side with its own entrance to the back garden and swimming pool.
There is a courtyard type front area for the morning and daytime sun and the evening sun and sunsets can be enjoyed from its own garden area at the rear.

The GARDENS are laid mainly to lawn with mature trees in the front garden, a bank of colourful flowers and shrubs in front of the swimming pool and a small orchard behind the pool.

There is a DRIVE with a great deal of space for parking and a car port at the side of the Farmhouse.
The drive entrance (just the first few metres) would be shared with the owner of the left hand side of the Farmhouse who owns the TENNIS COURT which you will be allowed to use FREE OF CHARGE.

Our LOCATION here in the most south-western area of the Loire is particularly attractive as we can be reached from any English south coast port ferry day crossing by the evening, or by midday on an overnight crossing.
We are:- 3.5 hours from Caen; 3.45 from Le Havre; 6 hours from Calais.

There are many things to do in our area; Doue la Fontaine (12 mins) has a wonderfully landscaped zoo which breeds endangered species including SNOW LEOPARDS.
Saumur has many attractions.
The Puy du Fou theme park with its distinctive separate day and nights shows can be reached in less than an hour.
Likewise Futuroscope.
Local airports (1.5 hours or less) are:- Angers; Poitiers; Tours and Nantes.
Angers is connected by TGC to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Our area is in the wonderful ANJOU WINE area, with Saumur (famous for its sparkling wines), the Chinon, and Touraine areas all within a short drive.
